CPSA supports Carers Australia’s $700 bonus

CPSA supports Carers Australia's call for a $700 bonus paid to all pensioners and carers before the Pension Review reports in February.

“Pensioners and Carers are struggling now to pay the bills and buy groceries, and they cannot wait until the next budget for much needed relief” said CPSA Policy Coordinator, Charmaine Crowe.

“Any measure announced by the Pension Review won’t be implemented until July 2009, which is over 8 months away. That’s far too long a wait for Pensioners and Carers who have already spent years trying to get by on just the pension”.
