Older Persons Tenants' Service has produced five fact sheets for tenants covered under the provisions of the Landlord and Tenant (Amendment) Act 1948. These tenants commonly are referred to as 'protected tenants'. These tenants have greater protection than other tenants against unfair rent increases and eviction. However, this legislation is silent on the issue of repairs.
