“Privatisation of the home care in NSW could leave people with a disability with poorer services and limited choice”, said Charmaine Crowe, Senior Advisor, Research & Advocacy.
“The National Disability Insurance Scheme must support people with a disability to participate in the workforce. Otherwise cuts to the Disability Support Pension will only result in more people accessing the unemployment benefit and do nothing to reduce the number of welfare recipients”, said Senior Policy Advisor Charmaine Crowe.
“People with disability and their carers who have had a chance to look at the details of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NSW Enabling) Bill 2013 have serious reservations about what it will mean for the future quality of supports and services and the choice of what’s available for all people with disability”, said Senior Policy Advisor, Amelia Christie.
“Australian Treasurer Mr Hockey’s suggestion that the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) should be managed by Medibank Private would be a huge loss for people with disabilities”, said Amelia Christie, CPSA Senior Policy Advisor.
“CPSA welcomes the Coalition’s commitment to maintaining the timeframe of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and the level of funding,” said Senior Policy Advisor, Amelia Christie.
