Pensioners warned: Age Well Campaign = Lose Your Home Campaign

"Combined Pensioners and Superannuants Association warns people to not be fooled by the Age Well Campaign, which should be rechristened the Lose Your Home Campaign," said Policy Coordinator Paul Versteege.

"The National Aged Care Alliance has started what it calls the Age Well Campaign. Participant organisations in the Age Well Campaign are members of the National Aged Care Alliance.

"The National Aged Care Alliance has been outed as a provider-dominated and funded lobby group, which has the interests of aged care providers and their profitability at heart. It has a small number of small consumer organisations as members, which are bound by National Aged Care Alliance policy. Evidently, Combined Pensioners and Superannuants Association is not a member. Significantly, Australia's largest seniors consumer group, National Seniors, has also run a mile from the National Aged Care Alliance.

"The National Aged Care Alliance has been licking its chops at the prospect of Productivity Commission proposals that people should sell or reverse mortgage their home to receive aged care, with providers determining the price of nursing home accommodation.”

CPSA represents pensioners of all ages, superannuants and low-income retirees. CPSA has 137 Branches and Affiliated Organisations, with a combined membership of 30,000 people.
